He has developed an integrative approach that bridges the time-honored theory and practice of traditional Chinese medicine with modern biomedical therapies and diagnostic tools. He works closely with a group of distinguished colleagues and cancer experts, including Donnie Yance, CN, AHG, founder of the Mederi Center, where he does most of his clinical work these days.

Dr Miller has worked with the Mederi Foundation for the past 20 years and he currently serves as Head of Faculty and Content Development for the Mederi Academy. He has also served as Medical Educator for Natura Health Products since 2006 where he hosts monthly webinars and interviews subject matter experts on the role of botanical and nutritional medicine in health and disease through Natura EDU. https://www.naturaedu.com/ He also integrates a wide range of therapeutic tools, including bodywork therapy and acupuncture, to resolve pain and improve health in his in-clinic patients that he serves at the Mederi Center in Ashland, OR. https://medericenter.org/

Dr Miller is also one of the chief investigators in a clinical trial proposal on collaborative strategies for treating canine B-Cell Lymphoma, along with Kendra Pope, DVM, and Donnie Yance.

Program Title: The Digestive System, Inflammation, Immune function, Neurological Health, and Autoimmune Disease. Layering the Lenses: Traditional Chinese medicine and Biomedical correlations.

Program Description: This 6-hour lecture series will introduce the weaving of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with Biomedical Concepts as they pertain to GI health. We will cover the role of the digestive system in TCM, organ functions and deficiencies, the identification of pathological factors, and how to address them using a collaborative approach. We will overlay the TCM perspective with modern biomedical science, with special emphasis on the diagnosis and integrative treatment of common GI health conditions.

Program Agenda:
Part 1 will delve into TCM theory, focusing on the Spleen organ network, which includes biomedical functions related to the pancreas, spleen, stomach, duodenum, and the liver. This is a 3-hour presentation.
Part 3 will focus on the role of gut health in immune function and autoimmune disease, with special attention given to inflammatory bowel disease. This is a 1.5-2 hour presentation.
Part 4 will focus on the diagnosis and treatment of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). This is a 1-1.5 hour presentation.
VBMA ENDORSES QUALITY HERBAL PRODUCTS
VBMA recognizes that the herbal product industry has faced quality control and regulatory challenges, and we recommend supporting those companies attempting to self regulate in a meaningful way. Companies that manufacture herbal products marketed for humans should be members of the American Herbal Products Association, an industry organization which explores issues, interacts with regulators, and establishes policy.  Veterinary product companies should be members of the National Animal Supplement Council, an organization which develops policies and procedures on adverse event reporting and quality control.
AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR PET OWNERS
The VBMA does not endorse any products sold on the internet for self prescribing to animals. We believe in the interests of safety that any herb should always be prescribed by a qualified practitioner. There are companies using our name with the suggestion that we endorse their recommendations or products. We specifically DO NOT support any website that unethically sells herbs to the public for non prescribed use in animals.  If you are in any doubt as to the authenticity of a claim made on a website about VBMA, please contact us at [email protected]. You may use the 'find a veterinarian' link on our site menu to find a qualified practitioner near you.
