VBMA WEBINAR: BASIC-Ph – A STORY OF RESILIENCE

For our sixteenth webinar,  Hannah Sherebrin, ATR-BC, OATR, YAHAT Supervisor ,will lecture on BASIC-Ph. Only $70 for VBMA Members!

 WEBINAR TOPIC:

When our practices are changing and there is uncertainty all around, feeling overloaded and stressed is inevitable. We are challenged to use every resource we can amass in order to stay resilient and sharp in order to serve our clients.

Empirical psychology has begun to conceptualize resilience, applying models which are based explicitly on the idea of healthy or adaptive development in the face of stressful influences.

In this workshop you will be introduced to the BASIC-Ph, a model which is based explicitly on the idea of healthy or adaptive development in the face of stressful influences.

A power point presentation of the theoretical material will precede the hands-on experiential part of the workshop. Please prepare a notebook, colored 11X14 sheet of heavy paper, and a white 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper. Have on hand a glue stick, crayons, markers, pencil and pen. We will be using our cell phone cameras to photograph the process. Bring your curiosity and openness to have meaningful enjoyment.

There will be a short presentation on adaptogenic herbs for resilience by Dr. Rona Sherebrin immediately preceding the workshop.

ABOUT HANNAH SHEREBRIN:

Hannah Sherebrin is a Registered Art Therapist with the American Art Therapy Association (ATR-BC 91-044), Ontario Art Therapy Association (OATR-12), Canadian Art Therapy Association (RCATA) and the Israeli Arts Therapies Association (Y.A.T.-Supervisor-188).  She completed her Master Certificate degree in 1990 at the University of Western Ontario, and received the social services of London Ontario distinguished medal of service award in 1996, and the Lifetime Professional Achievement and service Award in 2018 from the Israeli Arts Therapies Association.

VBMA WEBINAR – Heartworm, Fleas, and Ticks, OH MY!! Alternative Strategies!?!

For our twelfth webinar, we’re thrilled to welcome Cynthia Lankenau, DVM, CVA, CVCHM, RH (AHG) of Colden, NY as our speaker. Only $70 for VBMA Members!

WEBINAR TOPIC:

Heartworm, Fleas, and Ticks, OH MY!!  Alternative Strategies!?!

Our parasitic organisms appear to be stronger, spreading in their range and more resistant to conventional chemical strategies. The conventional treatments have harmful effects for the animals and for the environment.  Many of our clients are too ill to safety tolerate chemical approaches to parasitic issues, and need to eliminate chemical exposure or minimally to have a decreased exposure to chemical toxins. Ivermectin class of drugs have known ill effects on soil health. This webinar will explore alternative herbal approaches to Heartworm treatment and prevention, and flea and tick prevention. It will include case studies of cured Heartworm dogs and an area with historically excellent Heartworm prevention using herbal strategies.
